The Story: One of the more common but diverse larval fish species that can be encountered on blackwater dives around the world are flounders. I was fortunate to come across this exceptionally beautiful species that I hadn't seen before during a blackwater dive off Kona, Hawaii. Luckily it was cooperative enough to allow a portrait to be taken.
