The Story:  Diving with the Stellar Sea Lions is a fantastic experience, and there is no better place than Hornby Island. Inspired by the slow-shutter images of Brian Skerry and others, I had been trying to capture the photographic madness that diving with sea lions can involve. On our first dive of the day, in the soft early morning light, I followed a fellow videographer (see lights to the left in the photo) and photographer through the masses of sea lions. This shot is the result of much experimentation with strobe and shutter speeds during that dive, and my hope is that it captures a small part of the unbelievably fun chaos that diving with sea lions involves.

Location:  Hornby Island, British Columbia, Canada

Camera: Sony RX100 (F13, 1/13, ISO 200) with Ikelite Housing and Dual Sea & Sea YS-110a Strobes.
