Flickr Redesign Includes 1 TB Free Storage
New look seeks to bring photographers back to Flickr and includes a massive incentive: 1 Terabyte of free storage space.
By Travis Ball, May 20, 2013
If there's one thing photographers can always use more of, it's storage space for your images and a place to share them with the world. Flickr, one of the earliest social media sites (based around photography) received a major upgrade today. Included in the "spectacular" redesign is a new look that puts a focus on the images themselves. More importantly, free storage space has increased from 300mb a month to a flat 1 terabyte of storage space. It's hard to argue against 1000 gigs of free space and the ability to share all those images with a community of other photographers.
You have the option of paying to upgrade your account to an ad-free experience for $50 and can also opt to double your storage to 2 TB for $500. We think the new design does a great job incorporating photo-streams we enjoy on other social media platforms and that the larger image sizes create a much-improved user experience.
